What is Bamarama??

Bamarama is a Geocaching Mega Event held in Alabama, bringing together geocachers from across the country for a weekend full of caching, games, community, and adventure. It’s a celebration of all things geocaching — southern style!

When and where is Bamarama 2026 happening?

How do I register for Bamarama?

Registration will be available through our official website. You can choose between free log-only registration or upgrade to supporter packages that include swag, t-shirts, and more. Early registration is encouraged! (Coming Soon)

Is this a family-friendly event?

Absolutely! Bamarama is designed for geocachers of all ages. There will be kid-friendly activities, family caching challenges, and fun for everyone from newbies to seasoned cachers. Yes it is pet friendly.

Will there be any new geocaches published for the event?

Yes! We’ll be releasing a variety of new caches in the area leading up to and during the event weekend, including gadget caches, puzzles, and themed series — perfect for earning those smileys!

What is a Mega Event, and why is it special?

A Mega Event is an official geocaching gathering with at least 500 attendees. It’s a rare and exciting opportunity to meet other geocachers, participate in large-scale activities, swap trackables, and celebrate the game with the broader community.

Can I volunteer to help out?

Yes, please! Volunteers are the backbone of Bamarama. Whether it’s helping set up, greeting attendees, or assisting with events, we’d love your help. A volunteer sign-up form will be posted on our website soon.

Will there be vendors or geocaching merchandise?

Yes! We’ll have a selection of vendors on-site selling geocoins, containers, apparel, and other swag. Our own Bamarama store will also have exclusive event merchandise available for pre-order and purchase.

What accommodations are available nearby?

There are several lodging options in the area, including hotels, campgrounds, and RV parks. We recommend booking early as places fill up fast for mega weekends. A list of suggested accommodations will be available soon.
